M.D. Anderson Cuts Application Development Cycle Time By 50%
IT outsourcing providers develop faster using visualization software.
The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center embarked on an ambitious project to develop their own custom Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system that will be used by doctors and nurses to improve patient care and clinical outcomes.
Former clinicians trained as business analysts are using iRise visualizations in short review sessions with doctors and nurses to gain valuable feedback on EMR modules before any coding. The clinicians are able to have a fully immersive experience with the proposed applications without wasting time trying to understand static text requirements.
This rapid, iterative definition process built around visualization is accelerating the delivery of key EMR modules by 50%, which will speed the improvement of patient care and ultimately, drive better patient outcomes.

Using iRise, M.D. Anderson was able to:
Accelerate Delivery
Improve Adoption
“
iRise's simulation gives us the mechanism to communicate the desired application clearly, and therefore, speed the delivery of new, critical care systems. Now we have more time to spend on improving patient outcomes and make cancer history.
